I’ve always loved sharing stories, and when I discovered StoryBrand it just made sense. Too much sense! I jumped in head first and here we are. I believe it is the most effective way to simplify your message and cut through the noise.

The best way I can describe the power of StoryBrand is like when you give your kids too many toys to play with at one time. They become overwhelmed and instead end up playing with a cardboard box. Even kids prefer simplicity!

It all started with a personal blog. Upon finding myself in an administrative desk job at a billionaire-owned wealth management firm, I started my blog as a way to pass 8 hours sitting behind a desk at a very large phone I did not understand. I quickly taught myself how to design and launch a Wordpress site, self-host it, establish a readership, generate revenue through referral links, ads, and sponsorships, and the foundations of SEO. 6 months later I found myself at an ad agency working for a web designer as his project director. I kept blogging in the background. 3 years later, after having my first daughter, I craved more flexibility and landed a remote position at one of the first influencer marketing agencies. Another 3 years later, the Lord led me to a Communications Director position at a multisite megachurch in DFW. My blog slowly dissipated over time and when I made the decision to resign from my church job, I fell into nonprofit fundraising and consulting.

Which brings us to today!

So what exactly happened to my blog? Well, it died. Er, I killed it. Kid privacy stuff, you know? However, I’m bringing it back in a small way through my newsletter! I’ve always loved writing, and I can’t wait to share more of my own story with you.

I’ve spent 12+ years in digital marketing, influencer strategy, and strategic communications. If it involves storytelling, strategy, and a little creativity, I’m in!

I’m proud to say I thrived in the golden era of blogging. I once grew my personal blog to 35k+ monthly page-views. Fun fact: our first gender reveal went viral on Pinterest and was featured in numerous publications including the online edition of Better Homes & Gardens.

Once upon a time I was a runner. My marathon PR is nothing to brag about but I’m pretty proud of 4:32:58.

I’m a co-owner of a workplace learning consultancy that’s shaking up professional development and creating healthier, psychologically safe teams.

I love Jesus and a whole lot of coffee. That’s it. That’s the line.
